ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Tambuzi’s management is committed to protecting the environment of the Earth and ensuring that all its operations are done in an environmentally friendly manner by providing adequate support and resources, making the environment an organizational priority, integrating environmental management throughout the organization, identifying environmental problems, determining root causes, and preventing problems from recurring.
Tambuzi environmental policy is to promote good growing technologies that have least adverse impacts to people, water, air, land/soil, flora, and fauna to ensure a clean healthy environment and sustainability.
To minimize environmental impacts concerning our activities, products and services, the following strategies are applied: –
Environmental legislation and regulations
The management shall comply with applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which the Company subscribes which relate to its environmental aspects (both National and International) and Prevent pollution, reduce waste, and minimize the consumption of resources.
Organization Operations.
Identify the environmental aspects of its operations, products, or services that it can control and over which it can be expected to have an influence, to determine those, which have or can have a significant impact on the environment.
Maintain Operational controls (procedures to prevent pollution) and encourage environmental protection among suppliers and subcontractors.
Focus on continuous improvement.
Educate, train, and motivate employees to carry out tasks in an environmentally responsible manner.
The environmental management system and procedures will be reviewed regularly for suitability, adequacy and effectiveness and if necessary updated to ensure continued improvement.
Environmental objectives and targets
Develop and implement an Integrated Environment Management Plan (IEMP), which provides a holistic approach for the assessment and management of environmental impacts and aspects associated with the operations, with the overall aim of promoting sustainable development.
Each plan in the IEMP outlines clear goals and objectives, targets, and the monitoring guidelines of targets to be achieved.
Categories to include are physical climate change related impacts, Greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, water usage and pollution control, soil and ground water management, soil health management, air emissions, waste management, chemical management, biodiversity and ecosystems, deforestation, noise and light pollution control.
Environmental Risk Assessment
An annual risk assessment shall be conducted to evaluate and analyze potential environmental impact, risks and/or opportunities. measures aimed at reducing or preventing impacts or risks to the environment from our operations shall be developed.
Policy implementation and review
The policy has been documented, implemented, maintained, and communicated to all employees. The policy is reviewed annually.
Publicity
The Company is committed to continual improvement of environmental performance. This Policy will be communicated to all staff, contractors, and suppliers, and be available for the public to present a “good neighbour’’ image to the surrounding community and other stakeholders.
