We are incredibly proud to have won the Best Sustainability Award at the Kenya Flower Council Pinnacle Sustainability Awards 2026.

This recognition reflects our long-term commitment to responsible farming and the work taking place across every area of our farm. Sustainability at Tambuzi is not one project or a single achievement. It is an ongoing responsibility that influences how we care for our soil, manage water, protect biodiversity, reduce waste and support our people and surrounding communities.

As a Kenya Flower Council Gold Standard farm, a certified B Corp and a carbon-neutral business, we continually review our practices and look for ways to improve.

Our approach includes:

Protecting and improving soil health through composting, vermiculture, biochar, mulching and the use of natural fertilisers.

Managing water responsibly through rainwater harvesting, water storage, constructed wetlands, drip irrigation and careful monitoring.

Reducing and reusing waste by transforming organic materials from the farm into valuable resources, including compost and soil conditioners.

Using Integrated Pest Management to support healthier crops while reducing our reliance on conventional chemical treatments.

Supporting our people and communities through fair employment, training, education, healthcare and community initiatives.

Measuring our environmental impact so we can make informed decisions and continue reducing our carbon footprint.

Winning the Best Sustainability Award is particularly meaningful because it recognises how these different areas work together. Responsible farming is never about finding one perfect solution. It is about making thoughtful decisions every day and understanding how the health of our soil, water, plants, people and wider environment are all connected.

Christine Shikuku, General Manager at Tambuzi, said:

“We are incredibly proud to receive this award. It recognises the commitment of our entire team and the work taking place across every part of the farm. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to learning, improving and farming in a way that protects our people, our environment and the future of Tambuzi.”

This award belongs to our whole Tambuzi team. Their dedication, knowledge and willingness to continually improve make achievements like this possible.

We would also like to congratulate all the winners and finalists at the 2026 Pinnacle Sustainability Awards. The awards demonstrate the important progress being made across Kenya’s floriculture industry and the commitment of farms throughout the country to building a more responsible and resilient future.

Thank you to the Kenya Flower Council for this recognition. We are proud of how far we have come, but we also know there will always be more to learn and more that we can do.
